Originating in Germany around the 14th to 16th century, my breed was literally named after my whisker like moustache, and colloquially means the same in German. I am known for my silver coat, yet also come in a few other colours. I am very energetic and love both my people as well as others of my species.

In modern days, most of these are mass-produced using a process involving melting raw materials, forming a "gob" of molten glass, and then either pressing or blowing it into a mold to create the desired shape. Thus to be able to have, either antique, or newly hand blown, without mold, is a real treat. At least in mine own opinion.

A female of the Chelonoidis phantasticus, was rediscovered on Fernandina Island in the Galápagos during February of 2019. She single handedly disproved that no, my species has not been extinct since 1906. Yet sadly, Fernanda, who is over 100 years in age, may truly be the last of her species; for no other has been located, as of January of 2025, despite intense efforts to find her a mate.

The first of my kind was created by William Kent developed in 1733, when the Duke of Devonshire asked for something to be built for means of transport that would carry his children. Kent obliged by constructing a shell shaped basket on wheels that the children could sit in.

This recognizable logo was created by using two of the Younger Futhark Runes to represent Harald "Bluetooth" Gormsson, who was a king of Denmark and brought about a union with Norway. Harald ruled as king of Denmark from c. 958 – c. 986.
In modern times we see such as an union of technologies "... uniting the PC and cellular industries with a short-range wireless link".

This reminds mine self of the medieval belief in an demonic entity who was believed to tempt people into uncontrollable dancing, often seen as a manifestation of evil or a punishment for sinful behavior, with outbreaks of "dancing mania" where people would dance uncontrollably for days, believing they were possessed by the devil and could only be cured by continued dancing.
